We had a very, very busy day today in Division 14. Today, student got a change to explore technology on many levels. After lunch today, our students were given the task of becoming the teachers for their little buddies. Last week, you may recall, that students were introduced to the robot Dash. Today, half of the class taught their little buddies how to operate Dash while the other half taught their buddies how to operate a different robot: BeeBot. Once all students have be introduced to both robots, students will be given the task of creating mazes that they will have to program their robots through. Not only is it an exciting, engaging activity for our students, but it's giving them a leadership role with their little buddies. I'm happy to say that most of our students are showing EXCEPTIONAL leadership skills with their little buddies. I'm very proud of them. After buddies, we went back to our own classroom and worked on adding more to our myBlueprint portfolios. Students learned how to add photos and were given the task to add a photo of something they are proud of and to describe why they are proud of it. Then, students were asked to take the information we learned yesterday from taking our learning style survey to add a box that discusses how they like to learn. This is an important piece of knowledge for students to know about themselves. Do they learn best by watching someone do it first? Do they learn best by reading instructions quietly? Do they learn best by listening to someone give the instructions? Be sure to check out your child's myBlueprint profile by clicking the following LINK. All students have the same login ID's and their individual passwords can be found inside their red planners, which we also updated with important information today. Have a great extra long weekend. See you next week.
